Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why should I work with an independent advisor?

Being transparent and independent is very important to us. Our firm does not have any outside pressure in recommending solutions to you; there are no quotas to meet, or specific funds or securities to recommend. I love the fact that I am able to say that we have access to the finest solutions the market has to offer, as opposed to what one manufacture has to offer.

Q. What kind of experience do you have?

We've been providing financial planning and advice for 18 years. From North Vancouver to Abbotsford Fransen Financial has helped hundreds of individuals and businesses get on the path to achieving their financial goals.

Aaron is also accredited by the Financial Planning Standards Council as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, which means we meet or exceed all their standards for:
  • completion of education in financial planning
  • successful completion of rigorous standardized examinations
  • financial planning work experience
  • an ethical commitment to putting the client's interest first

Q. How do you get paid?

Many of my clients are initially concerned about the fees they are sure to incur working with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional. I believe in complete transparency and disclosure, so at the onset of our relationship we will discuss the different methods of compensation that we offer our clients.

Q. Where will we meet?

Our office is located in South Surrey very close to major commuting arteries. You'll be welcomed into our office by Kelly and offered the beverage menu before we meet. We believe that meeting in a professional office environment (as opposed to sitting around a kitchen table) will enable our clients to remain focused and in the moment.

Q. What is your investment philosophy?

We seek Risk Management first! We believe it's more important to avoid major drawdowns in the market than it is to participate in major uptrends. Active review and rotation, along with opportunities to invest in nontraditional asset classes across multiple investment styles to help us do this.

Q. Will client information be kept confidential?

All of your information will always be kept in the strictest possible confidence. You can relax knowing that no member of Fransen Financial will ever share confidential information about you without your prior consent.

Q. When should I get advice?

While there's never a bad time to seek guidance for your financial future, it's especially important to get advice in preparation for major events in your life like marriage, divorce, birth, employment changes, or death.
